This is week 2 and the most important week of the Andelan bootcamp I started on the 6th of January with about 60 others. Now we are down to 33, 12 fellows will be chosen by the end of this week.

Getting here has not been easy, this has really been a challenging experience. From day 1 which was the self learning clinic where we had about 3 different tasks. During this bootcamp, I have had to do things differently from sleeping less at night, writing blog posts every other day(which is something I have wanted to do but haven’t done, I had 4 blog posts last week, a personal record) to seeking for feedback.

Next we had three days of home session, we had to submit each day’s task before close of business each day. There were a lot of on the feet learning for me to do. I had to pick things up pretty quickly. One of the labs had to do with regex functions that made me go learn the techniques of matching words before being able to pass that function.

Then there was a second self learning to round off the first week tasks where we worked in groups, it was a self organizing group. Specific task was delegated to individuals in the group and our work had to merge at the end. This enabled me to learn working with others, I had to listen to everybody even when I thought I had the answers.

Feedback from my BFA is something am not used to, I was always been told I had seek for feedback, I had to receptive to feedback whether good or bad and learn to work with them. Now I ask questions more, I can do better with working in teams, I seek feedback on my work. Andela is a constantly changing environment and I have to adapt to fit in.
